Also of note in the realm of civic engagement: District Four City Councilor Olivia Clark will host a constituent coffee at PDX Coffee Club on Friday, July 25, from 11am-1pm. PDX Coffee Club is co-located with Please Louise at 6369 Southwest Capitol Highway.

46th Annual Blueberry Pancake Breakfast
Sunday, July 20
8:30am-12pm
Casa Colima Parking Lot
$5 kids, $10 adults
Tony Scuito, the original owner of Hillsdale Shoe Repair, is credited with cooking up the idea for a customer appreciation pancake breakfast back in 1976. Since then, the Hillsdale Business and Professional Association (HBPA) has served up the tradition every year in July —aside from a short stack of years off during the pandemic.
HBPA Treasurer Chris Braidwood Reid emphasizes the "customer appreciation" focus of the breakfast, saying, "the Hillsdale business community is blessed to have supportive customers." She noted this was never more evident than during the upheaval brought by COVID—no businesses in Hillsdale folded due to the pandemic, thanks in large part, she says, to continued local support.
This year’s breakfast is made possible by the efforts of 24 Hillsdale businesses, over 40 volunteers and over 300 volunteer hours—all working toward the goal of serving up a breakfast full of appreciation for the customers who continue to show up and support local merchants and service providers.
Donations from businesses like Basics, Casa Colima, Baker and Spice, Verde Cocina and OnPoint Community Credit Union help keep the cost low. $5 for kids and $10 for adults gets you a full breakfast of blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, eggs, sausage, orange juice and coffee, cooked and served by local business owners and staff.

Hillsdale/Multnomah Village Coupon Guide
This year's breakfast will launch a new HBPA initiative: the Hillsdale/Multnomah Village Coupon Guide. The free Guide contains more than 30 coupons from local businesses and will be available at the following locations while supplies last:
