Hillsdale’s year-round outdoor farmers’ market is looking to fill the position of Community Relations Manager, following the departure of market staffer Adam Sunshine.
The Hillsdale Farmers’ Market is a 501(c)4 non-profit, founded in 2002 by Hillsdale community members who wanted a source for locally grown food and a community gathering place. Markets are weekly during the main season from the first Sunday in April through the last Sunday before Thanksgiving, and bi-weekly during the winter from December through March. Vendors come from all over Oregon and Washington.
The position is 20-24 hours a week (varies seasonally), and pays a salary of $2,360 a month. The role will remain open until filled, with a start date of May 1 or earlier. The priority application period runs through March 25, 2026.
The Community Relations Manager performs a wide range of duties and requires a candidate capable of providing confident, strong leadership that is consistent with the market’s values. The person in this role will work alongside the Market Director and Market Assistant; the Market Board plans to add an Operations Manager to the team in 2027.
The Market is seeking a dynamic candidate passionate about farmers’ markets, with a desire to contribute to the success and growth of its local community of vendors and shoppers. Experience in farmers’ markets, food service, event management, hospitality, project management, education, or social media/digital marketing is desirable.
Primary responsibilities include market promotion, implementation of the Power of Produce (POP) Program, and volunteer coordination.
Sunday availability and ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions year round are required.
