Hillsdale Holiday Events on the Horizon

[Posted Friday, November 18, 2022]

Will Walk for Scones

Hillsdale's annual Thanksgiving Day Scone Walk is on again this year, thanks to hosts SW TrailsPDX and Karen and Glenn Bridger. They invite the SW community to take a self-led neighborhood hike that includes a stop for coffee and scones from 9:30-11 am. At the midpoint of the walk, on SW Vincent Place cul-de-sac, scones, coffee, and tea will be served by neighborhood and trails advocates Glenn and Karen Bridger. This year’s walk starts and ends at the Hillsdale Food Park on SW Capitol Highway at the entrance to Ida B. Wells High School. The organizers ask you to respect the wishes of others in your walking party regarding the wearing of masks. Friendly, well-controlled dogs are welcome.

Find route details at the SW Trails website.

Bright Lights, Golden Tickets

Friday, November 25, marks the start of this year's Golden Ticket shop local event. Make a minimum in-store purchase at participating businesses in Multnomah Village and Hillsdale through December 31, and receive a Golden Ticket redeemable for a special offer or discount on goods or services from other participating merchants.

In Hillsdale, find the Golden Ticket at these businesses:

Hoot-n-Annie Resale

Other Worlds Games & Comics

Paloma Clothing

The UPS Store - Hillsdale

Verde Cocina

Find more details on the Golden Ticket here.

Also on Friday, dusk will bring the first night of the Hillsdale business district's winter white lights campaign. Watch Hillsdale light up as the sun goes down.

Relax and Enjoy the Show

To round out the official start to the holiday season, there are still a few tickets left (as of this writing) for The Portland Ballet's show "The Enchanted Toyshop." The showpiece ballet of this homegrown company is back after a 5-year hiatus.
